I think our days of summer are numbered. Before we know it fall will be here. If there is one thing that makes summer in Arizona tolerable, it is having a pool. We love swimming!!!

A Very Special Birthday....
Yesterday was my birthday and it was such a fun day :-) I woke up in the morning to a giant bag of skittles and a cute card from my husband. We took off for the doctor's to hear our baby's heart beat. Our baby had a strong, healthy heart beat... what more can you ask for. For me, this was the best part about my birthday.
Later that evening Andrew and I got to have a little date to the movies. We saw "The Other Guys." Will Ferrell was hilarious as usual, but the movie itself wasn't great. After the movie we got Olive Garden take-out and enjoyed some yummy pasta at home!!
Thanks everyone for all the birthday wishes and gifts. I love my family and had a great birthday with my boys!

Felt Puppets
Took a little trip to Hobby Lobby (it's dangerous having it so close!) and got more felt and craft goods. I made these super cute and easy felt puppets for Wyatt.
These were so fun and easy to make. I am now doing a bit of a harder project. I'm making another felt book for Wyatt. I'm really taking my time on this one but I'm hoping to have it done by this weekend. Once it's done I will post a blog with some pictures!

How Wyatt and Mommy spend their Friday's
This is how we spent our Friday....
We start our morning out right with some homemade blueberry pancakes (YUM)
Then Wyatt and I gathered a few craft items and made a little bird wreth. Wyatt picked everything out and had fun making it.
Wyatt also spent a long time painting his birdhouse. It turned out so cute. He loves to paint! He ended up with paint on his shirt, face, and arms, but that is just part of the fun!
Here is the finished product...so cute...
And of course there is always time to chase Rupert around the house! These two have become the best of buds.
After all our crafts and chasing Rupert, we headed outside for a little picnic on the patio and then some swimming!!

Day Trip To Sedona
My dad came in town visiting from Florida so we took a day trip up to Sedona. I love it there, it's so beautiful.
We ate lunch at this grill that has a beautiful view of the red rocks...of course I ended up not eating much because after a few bites of my pulled pork sandwich I realized something didn't taste right. I opened up my sandwich only to find little pieces of tin foil all over in my food....umm gross! BUT Wyatt enjoyed his huge kids meal!
Afterwards, Andrew was kind enough to buy me a big ice cream cone to make up for my lunch incident! We walked around some shops for awhile and then headed north to Oak Creek. We went to Slide Rock State Park. We didn't swim or anything, we just wanted to see what it was like. It is so cool there and we will definitely take Wyatt back when he is a bit older.
It was a fun day trip, but me being pregnant, it took a lot out of me. I fell dead asleep in the 2 hour car ride home and woke up in a tremendous amount of pain. My neck hurt so bad, I couldn't even move. So, a bad 2 hour nap + waking up with a stiff neck + already having past neck injuries= bengay, heat patches, and a neck brace. So with all my neck creams and heat patches I smell like a nursing home and look super attractive in my neck brace, HA.

Motherhood: An Eternal Partnership With God
My sweet husband sent me this video and I think he sent it at just the right time. Being a mother is not always easy, but it is the best. Sometimes as a mother you can feel overwhelmed or that you aren't doing enough. We must always remember how sacred the role of being a mother is and that we aren't in this alone. I am so thankful for our son and for my sweet husband. Being a mother is truly the greatest gift.

I Love To See The Temple
My grandma came in town from Minnesota for a visit so we took her and my mom to the Temple. It was a beautiful day for it.
The Temple is the greatest place on earth. It is Heaven on earth. I love the Spirit that I feel there everytime we go, even if it is just walking the grounds. In this noisy, bustling, competitive world, what a privilege it is to have a sacred house where we may experience the sanctifying influence of the Spirit of the Lord. I am so greatful for Temples and the work done therein.
