Chicken Dance

I just had to blog this. Wyatt just learned how to do the chicken dance. You know:

"I don't wanna be a chicken. I don't wanna be a duck. So I wiggle my butt"

It is the cutest thing ever!!!!! And he trys to sing along with the words, which of course he doesn't know which makes it even cuter.

Our little man is growing up!

The Remarkable Soul Of A Woman

I read this book recently, well I actually read it twice since I got it. I really enjoyed it. It's a really short book, but it has a lot of powerful messages in it. I typically like to read longer books that take me awhile to finish but it's just a good, short, feel good book with great messages and quotes!

A Little Backyard Fun With The Hose

Yesterday after we got home from the zoo it was getting really hot and since our pool still isn't quite warm enough to go swimming we let Wyatt have fun with the hose...which he did!!

He had so much fun, I think he could've done that all day!

Overall, we had such a fun day as a family!

Animal Encounters

Yesterday, on Saturday, Andrew, Wyatt, and I met my mom at the zoo for a fun filled day. It was perfect warm weather and Wyatt had a lot of fun. First stop, like always was the giraffes. They opened up a new area where you can feed the giraffes but it's only open during certain times and we missed it. I was pretty bummed because that is like my favorite part, but either way I still had tons of fun.

Then, we went to see the rhinos, which I love as well.

Then, it was time for the monkeys. Wyatt tried to bring his apple into the monkey village but they stopped us and said that they would come at us and steal it so we thought it would be best (and safer) to leave the apple behind!!

We were starting to get tired and were about to leave the zoo. Andrew waited on a bench by the elephants while my mom and I went to go find a restroom. Now before I begin this story I would like to inform everyone that I am a huge lover of animals BUT not a huge lover of bird type creatures (such as geese, peacocks, or any large bird type animal). Anyways, I was coming out of the restroom when two peacocks were walking right towards me. I tried to remain calm because I know people always say they sense fear, but I couldn't remain calm when the male peacock decided to come at me!! I was so scared he was going to peck my eyes out or something so I ran through a bamboo area that I think may be off limits at the zoo, but did I care? NO. All I cared about was getting away from this peacock that was out to get me!

It was a fun, adventurous day at the zoo!!

It's Almost Party Time....!!

Our little man is not so little anymore. He is almost 2 and I can't believe it!! I swear just yesterday it was his 1st birthday... oh how the time flies! In case I forgot to send this to anyone here is his invitation.

It is going to be a blast! We are renting a bounce house for the kids to jump around in. There will be fireman games, fireman cake, food, and fireman gear for all the kids to take home!!

By the way I totally went above and beyond on this party...I'm sure Wyatt could care less if everything was matching and decorated just right, but I guess it's more for me, LOL. Either way, I'm having so much fun getting everything ready. We have two HUGE bags of decorative stuff, games, and goodies..... see what I mean..... haha I can't wait!

Planting Flowers

We did a service project with the young women and planted flowers at the temple. What an experience that was. It's not every day these girls will be able to do something like this!

Not only was this such a great experience for the young girls, but it was for us leaders as well. As I was walking around the temple grounds with Wyatt, I heard so many girls talking about the temple and the plants and the beauty of it all. The spirit was so strong that evening and it really was a lot of fun.

Wyatt had fun doing what he does best....running around and having fun with all the young girls!!

"As we serve we grow.It is not what we receive that enriches our lives, it is what we give."

Party Time

Wyatt went to his first birthday party on Saturday for his little friend Lincoln.

It was such a cute cowboy party!

The Greatest Gift

I have been thinking a lot lately about the importance of being a mother. To me, being a mother is the absolute greatest blessing. There is nothing I enjoy more than being with my family. I love hearing Wyatt's little bare feet pitter pattering on the tile floors in the morning as he is coming into our bedroom to wake us up, I love how he gives me the biggest hugs, and I love watching him grow. It seems like just yesterday Wyatt came into this world and now he is about to turn two. I love being able to teach, guide, and nurture him. It's so important to understand the sacred nature and responsibility of the role of motherhood.“The most important of the Lord’s work you and I will ever do will be within the walls of our own homes."

I will always be there for Wyatt and I will always continue to teach him about our Heavenly Father and of the scriptures. Sometimes we can seem a bit overwhelmed with our everyday tasks, cooking, cleaning, appointments, and everything else but our work never goes unnoticed and our prayers never go unanswered. There are so many amazing blessing we receive by having children and there is so much we can learn from them as well.

I look forward to many wonderful memories with my family and I look forward to having more children with my husband, for he is truly an amazing father and I am so very thankful for him and the wonderful things he does and has accomplished for our family.

Disneyland, Easter, Conference, Family, and FUN!!

For Easter weekend we drove out to California to see family. As always it was a great time! Saturday Wyatt spent the day with grandma and grandpa while Andrew and I enjoyed a date to Disneyland and California Adventures!!

We have been to Disneyland before but the only time we went to California Adventures was just to go on the Tower Of Terror (Luckily we didn't do that again this time!) California adventures is really fun and WAY less crowded than Disneyland, although I am still a huge fan of Disneyland! We had such a fun time just the two of us and Wyatt had a fun day with grandma and grandpa.

Then Sunday of course was Easter which was nice, Wyatt had a lot of fun having two Easter egg hunts, although he got his first real bad owie that morning!! He was running around looking for eggs and fell flat on his face hitting his chin up pretty bad, but Wyatt is a tough little guy and did fairly well! We spent some time with family, watched conference, enjoyed some milk shakes (which by the way were amazing!!)and of course experienced our first earthquake!!

It was a great weekend!

Our Trip To The Science Center.....

So yesterday, April Fool's Day, Andrew got home early from work so we decided to have a family day out. We went to the Arizona Science Center, which we have never been to before. When we first got there, there is a giant room with stuff Wyatt loved. I think to him it looked like a giant playroom!!

They had this little balance row you had to walk on and Wyatt was pretty much obsessed with it, and he did better on it than most adults, haha. Then we went into a room where you can step behind a screen and see yourself through it... it's hard to explain, but if you have been to it, you know what I'm talking about.

So anyways, then we took Wyatt down the hall to look at rocks, which I think he could care less about! haha.

So, overall we had a really fun time. We were a little bummed because quite a few things were closed at the Science Center for repairs, but either way it was a great family outing. Then afterwards we walked around the city and had some lunch at UNO. I love days out with my cute little family!
