Marjorie Pay Hinckley

I love learning more about Marjorie Hinckley and what a beautiful person she was. She was a loving mother of 5 and a devoted wife to Gordon B Hinckley for nearly 67 years. Everyone that knew her talked about her strong love for our Savior and for her family. As I was giving our visiting teaching message last night I read a quote from Marjorie Hinckley that said:

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.

I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.

I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.

I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someones garden.

I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.

I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

I love this quote. Sometimes with all the hustle and bustle of things and the craziness of life we need to stop and ask ourselves if what we are doing is important... will it be remembered... did we take the time to teach our children what it truly means to be a child of God... did we help that friend in need... did we really live life...

I want to have amazing memories with my family. I want to say that I helped someone in need. I want to enjoy every messy, sticky, playful moment with our children. I want to be the best me that I can be.

And most of all when I reach those pearly gates I want Heavenly Father to smile upon me and know that I really lived.

Tumbleweed Park

This is seriously the greatest park EVER. I love it and I know we will be making many more trips here as a family and with playgroup!!
The park is called Tumleweed park in Chandler and it is so much fun!! I haven't posted any belly pictures yet so here is a picture of my belly :-) I'm so excited to be a mommy to 2!

Caramel Apple Fun

Wyatt loves apples and things that are sweet so I figured why not combine the two and make some caramel apples. Andrew got us the caramel sheets at the store and Wyatt and I made them. Wyatt wanted to do it all himself. He is such a little helper.

 And the finished product....Yummy!!

California Vacation

We just got back from our vacation with Andrew's family to Cambria, CA. It was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect! Our the drive up to Cambria we made a couple stops. The first stop was to the beach just to get out of the car and see the ocean.
Then, we stopped in a little town called Solvang which is a small Danish town. It is a really pretty little town and fun to see.
After leaving Solvang and being back on the road we stopped at a Wendy's for some lunch where we saw a fire hydrant knocked over and water flooding the parking lot. We of course had to take pictures.
We got back on the road and were getting close to Cambria when Wyatt threw up everywhere in the car. Poor little guy tends to get car sick and sure enough it happened so we had to pull over and clean him and the car up, but even through all that he was such a trooper and didn't mind hopping right back into the car.
Once we actually got settled in the nice house in Cambria we went to Nitwit Ridge which in case you don't know is an entire house made of recyled materials and trash basically. It's also known as the poor man's Hearst Castle.
We also went to see the elephant seals (twice) which are really cool to see. They are huge animals!
Andrew and I got to have a little date to go see Hearst Castle, which I really enjoyed. I thought it was incredible to see and can't imagine living in a place like that!! Crazy!!
We also spent a day at the beach and at this awesome playground that is right on the beach. Wyatt played and played, and played some more! He had such a great time playing on the playground and running on the beach!
We also spent a VERY interesting day at Pismo beach, haha. Andrew and his dad rented a sand rail and went riding in the sand dunes on the beach. The rest of us were going to meet up and just shop around Pismo, but we ended up getting our truck stuck in the sand and had a pretty hard time getting out. After digging, and digging, we finally got out. Meanwhile, we couldn't get a hold of Andrew and Bob and we saw ambulances rushing down the beach so we worried. Anyways, Andrew and Bob were just fine and so was the truck and it was actually a quite funny experience that we will always remember!
We ended that day with some salt water taffy and a nice relaxing evening at the house!
In the master bathroom in the house we rented was a huge jacuzzi tub and Wyatt had the bath of his life! They put the jets on and loaded in the bubble bath. Wyatt thought it was the greatest thing EVER.
The last day we spent back in Redlands for Andrew's 25th birthday. Andrew got some new gifts and we all enjoyed some yummy chocolate pie (Terri makes the BEST chocolate pie!!) Happy birthday Andrew, I hope you enjoyed it and I love you.
It was a great vacation. I love going on vacations and just spending time with our family. I miss them already!!
