Porter Is Here!

February 21, 2011 I woke up and around 9am starting feeling contractions and cramping off and on. Towards the afternoon they got stronger and wouldn't go away. I ended up calling Andrew around 3:00 and telling him I think we need to go to the hospital. Luckily I was super prepared and already had my hospital bag packed and in the trunk! We dropped Wyatt off at a friends house and took off for the hospital. They hooked me up to the monitors and told me they were going to keep me because I was in labor! I was so thrilled! They got me into a room around 6:30 and got me my epidural not long after that. Everything was going pretty quick and the next thing I know they tell me I am ready to have the baby and he arrived at 10:43pm weighing 5 lbs 11ozs 18 1/4 inches long. Nothing can describe that feeling of seeing your baby for the first time. It is such an amazing feeling. You become so attached to the little bundle of joy when they are inside of you and then when they come out and you are holding them for the first time it is truly amazing! I love being a mommy so much I can't put it into words. I love my boys!

I am grateful that this delivery went so smoothly, much smoother than when I had Wyatt! Porter is such a sweet baby and is so content. He doesn't fuss much at all and sleeps well. Wyatt wasn't sure at first of what to think. He was kind of ignoring his baby brother at first but now he is so protective and sweet to him. Porter doesn't like to be swaddled at all! He loves to sleep with his elbows in the air and he loves having his hands on his face. He loves being held and sang to! For now, here are some pictures... I will be posting another blog soon of Porter's first bath :)
